PSYCHOTHERAPY

Psychotherapy is a process, between a therapist and a client or patient. This involves a therapeutic relationship with a trained clinician, who is able to understand and relate to your inner world, and is able to assist you to identify, and become aware and express your inner feelings in a socially acceptable manner. Psychotherapist is also able to create the needed inertia and assist you in achieving the momentum needed to bring about changes so as to maximize your functioning that is satisfying to you.

Some of the reasons why people seek psychotherapy:

Dealing with life crises

Psychotherapy is helpful to people who are in active state of emotional crisis, such as death of a loved one, other losses such as the end of a relationship, divorce, separation, the loss of a job, on the job injury - both of a physical and emotional nature, having experienced a recent trauma, and so on.

Relationship Challenges

Those experiencing challenges or difficulties in relationships, either with their spouses or significant others, within their families, with friends and or neighbors, or with work associates and colleagues. They might find it a challenge to express their thoughts, feelings and undertake the needed behavior changes so as to improve the levels of satisfaction in their relationships.

Specific Challenges

These might include addiction challenges such as alcohol and other substance abuse, attention challenges, money management concerns, phobias, and mood challenges - such as depression and or anxiety.

Personal Growth

Some use psychotherapy, not because of specific issues or problems, but in order to attain a vision for their personal and work life, through greater self-awareness, so as to make their life more fulfilling.
